Spa Breaks
Holidays are always thought of as an antidote to a busy lifestyle, offering time and space to relax and recharge our batteries. This may not involve lying on a beach. Spa holidays offer a whole new type of holiday experience. People visit spa resorts for a day’s pampering which is the key objective, while others may want more of a detox program to combat the effects of modern living. Spa resorts and hotels that have a spa are available around the world.
- Thalasso Spa Holidays – Thalassotherapy (derived fro the Greek word meaning ‘sea’) Thalassotherapy spas are always on the coast, which is good news for beach lovers because you can combine the best of a spa holiday with the pleasure of the sun, sea and surf.
- Pampering Spa Holidays – This is a time to be pampered be it with a soothing body and beauty treatment for both men and women. These are normally available in deluxe hotels and they usually have steam and sauna rooms, fitness area. Clients can have an aromatherapy massage, spa pedicure, facial or exfoliating body rub.
- Detox – Having a detox programme benefits you by boosting your immune system and improving your overall wellbeing.
- Weight Loss Holidays – Invest two weeks of your life at a spa that specialises in weight control issues, where you are given a total program that supports you on every level, nutrition, fitness, calories.
Skiing
I have for the past 20 years specialised in selling ski holidays. I have worked in a ski resort in Austria and taught skiing for a little while in England on the dry ski slopes.
It is always important to review the ski resorts that you are interested in to make sure that it caters for your ski ability. Beginner / low intermediate / intermediate and advanced level, ski holidays should never be booked in advance, the best time to start thinking about a ski holiday is in mid October when the first snow fall or “dump” has arrived. Depending on which country has received the first fall you are then in a better position to decide as that resort will typically have good snow all season.
Early December is always reasonably priced and obviously Christmas and New Year will be more expensive. The first two weeks of January are considered low season and will also be at a reasonable price.
I can arrange self catering and self drive holidays which for a family is very good value. Catered chalets are a good option but children under 11 years old cannot stay in the chalets unless the whole chalet is being taken by the same group or family. I can also provide accommodation in Hotels based on bed & breakfast or half board.
Sailing
There are options also to go on a sailing holiday but you do not have to sail for the whole 14 days, you can stay on land and learn the basics of sailing and the second week join other sailors on flotilla.
Golfing
Golfing holidays can be arranged in either Europe or the United Kingdom. If you would like to travel further afield then how about golfing in either Dubai , South Africa , USA, Egypt or Morocco.
Scuba Diving
Scuba Diving is now becoming a very popular addition to some traveller’s holidays. The destinations available are Red Sea, Maldives, South Africa, South East Asia, Caribbean and many more.
People of all ages can dive but you should be able to swim 200m unaided and be confident in the water. For your own safety a lot of dive organisers will insist on seeing your PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors) license for deep dives, or will require you to undergo training in a local hotel pool and limit your depth and ensure you dive in a close group.
